You Say It's Your Birthday, It's My Birthday Too!

September 12th is my birthday. Ever since I was a little girl this date has always been special and exciting. I would count down every month on the 12th how many more until September. To the point of annoying my family and friends to exhaustion getting ready for the occasion.

So what did I do today??  I worked on making my big sign for my space in Red Neck Chic's tent in Warrenton in just 10 more days!! OMG!! Only 10 I am so super excited to have this opportunity to show my wares in Zapp Hall Field for the very first time. I met Robelyn last year through blogging and she is very funny and sweet. What kind of sign do I want?? I've been asking myself this for almost a year, and I admit I've procrastinated alot about it............Luckily my awesome mom found these great brass stencils while on vaca in North Texas this summer. As soon as I saw them I knew I wanted to incorporate them into my sign for the tents.

These suckers are big! they are 8" x 5 and in great condition! I punched some very small holes in the corners to that I could thread them onto the burlap background. The kit only had one of each letter of the alphabet so I just made some makeshift stencils from pieces of fabric and burlap.

I actually stiched the letters and fabric onto the burlap and cardboard backing, so needless to say this took me ALL DAY! I just finished and I think it turned out pretty cool!  I wish the pic was better it looks super cool and has a little shine to it from the brass that you can't see in this pic. It measures about 4 ft X 2ft, which is just the right size I think, maybe a little too big........?

It will need a frame but I will procrastinate on what that will look like another day because we are going out to dinner tonight for some Japanese food!! YUMMY!
