New Orleans

I recently spent a weekend in New Orleans with the girls, we did the usual "touristy" stuff, Bourbon St, Jackson Square, Cafe Du Monde, and a carriage ride through the French Quarter. But there is a reason why everyone does the "touristy" stuff...............it is AMAZING!!
Lisa, Leslie, Bridget, Michelle, Kim and Bootsie
Famous for Mardi Gras, Home of The New Orleans Saints, Surviving Hurricane Katrina, Birthplace of the Muffuletta,  Louis Armstrong, and Bananas Foster. New Orleans is a southern treasure to be discovered by anyone who has the "exploration" gene.
This city has such an interesting history that I could write a blog for a year on just New Orleans alone. Damaged by fires, wars, hurricanes, epidemics, and floods, this city rises again and again to show the world that it can take whatever Mother Nature can bring...........

St. Louis Cathedral-Jackson Square

Jackson Square Architecture

Artwork lines an entire city block around Jackson Square! OH and I love this tree!!

There is always a line outside the door for the Muffuletta

Walking along the city streets, entrance to someones courtyard

Cast Iron Balconies and Greenery

No typical door knobs found here!!

Window Shopping! Check out the cat!

More window shopping

This was such a great day, walking around, listening to Jazz Music blaring from the street corners, having a Cafe Au Lait at Cafe Du Monde, lunch at Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville, having a drink on Bourbon St, shopping in the French Market, and just laughing and cutting up with my girls.................I can't help but be inspired by the French influence and courage and heart of the New Orleans people. What a great city! I can't wait to go back!!

bonne journé,

~Leslie
